at around 8:00 pm, Dr. Efron came out to meet with us and let us know that the surgery was a success ... he was able to get all the cancer out through the Laproscope and had no need to do an incision. Her rectum was able to be reconstructed and she won't need a permanent ileostomy ... she just has a temporary one.
The doctor was able to get all the cancer out and he reported that everything else looked healthy ... he's going to do some pathological tests on the tumor just to make sure everything is good.
We were able to re-unite with her at about 9:15 pm ... the clinic is nice and the room is very comfortable ... everything looks very clean ... we are Happy.
When we first got to see her, she was going in and out of consciousness as the anesthesia was wearing off. She was able to rest for bits of time throughout the night. Her main complaint is pain and discomfort but overall I believe she's doing well.
Today, she has to try to move her legs a little bit ...
She's slowly going back to her regular self ... first thing she asked me in the morning is to brush her hair and brush her teeth ... we want our clean freak back!!!
We're getting so much love from friends and family ... it feels nice .. also the nurse and doctors have been super ... very patient centered ... and the food is good too :)
aproximadamente a las 8 pm, el Dr. Efron salio a juntarse con nosotras e informarnos que la cirujia fue un suceso... el pudo sacar todo el cancer a travez de la ladroscope y no necesito hacer un corte. Su recto pudo ser reconstruido y no necesitara de una ileostomia permanente ... solamente la temporal.
El doctor pudo sacar todo el cancer y reporto que lo demas se veia muy saludable ... el hara unos examenes patologicos en el tumor para asegurarnos que todo esta bien.
Nosotros pudimos reunirmos con ell aproximadamente a las 9:15 pm ... la clinica es muy bonita y el cuarto muy comodo ... todo se ve muy limpio ... estamos felices.
Cuando la vimos por primera vez, ella estaba todavia bajo efecto de la anestesia. Ella pudo dormir por poquitos en la noche. Su queja es el dolor e incomodidad pero esta sintiendose bien aparte de eso. Hoy tiene que tratar de mover sus piernas un poquito ...
Poquito a poquito esta regresando a ser ella misma ... primera cosa que pregunto en l mañana fue que la peinara y le lavara los dientes ... queremos a nuestra limpiadora compulsiva de regreso!!!
Estamos recibiendo tanto amor de amigos y familia ... se siente bien ... tambien las enfermeras y doctores han sido muy buenos ... centrados en el paciente y sus necesidades ... y la comida tambien es rica :)
